Oceano lagoon is a freshwater wetlands that abuts Oceano campground in Pismo Beach State Park. The Guiton trail, which loops 1.5 miles around the lagoon, is named after Harold Guiton who donated the lagoon to the State park system in 1935. There's also a Native Plant Garden's interpretive trail, which we strolled through when we camped at Oceano last August. A great place to see native plants and learn how the Chumash used them and to catch glimpses of waterfowl.
